Arrow to release THE RING COLLECTION Blu-Ray March 2019

In 1998, director Hideo Nakata (Dark Water) unleashed a chilling tale of technological terror on unsuspecting audiences, which redefined the horror genre, launched the J-horror boom in the West and introducing a generation of moviegoers to a creepy, dark-haired girl called Sadako. The film’s success spawned a slew of remakes, reimaginations and imitators, but none could quite boast the power of Nakata’s original masterpiece, which melded traditional Japanese folklore with contemporary anxieties about the spread of technology.

A group of teenage friends are found dead, their bodies grotesquely contorted, their faces twisted in terror. Reiko (Nanako Matsushima - When Marnie Was There), a journalist and the aunt of one of the victims, sets out to investigate the shocking phenomenon, and in the process uncovers a creepy urban legend about a supposedly cursed videotape, the contents of which causes anyone who views it to die within a week – unless they can persuade someone else to watch it, and, in so doing, pass on the curse…

Arrow Video is proud to present the genre-defining trilogy – RING, the film that started it all, plus Hideo Nakata’s chilling sequel, RING 2, and the haunting origin story, RING 0 – as well as the ‘lost’ original sequel, George Iida’s SPIRAL, gathered together in glorious high definition and supplemented by a wealth of archival and newly created bonus materials.

Fans of the Leprechaun films rejoice, because the LEPRECHAUN RETURNS this month in this direct sequel to the original 1993 film, which is available now on digital Download.

Some 25 years after the events, in which a pint sized Goblin with a foul mouth and an Irish accent, drove the Reading family out of their home. The property has been purchased by a nearby university as part of an eco-project to turn it into a self sustaining - off grid sorority house.

Unfortunately for the students trying to fix up the place, due to an unfortunate incident with a nosey taxi driver (Mark Holton - reprising his role of Ossie from the original film) a four-leaf clover and a gold sovereign, the evil Leprechaun from the first film is ressurected (played this time by Linden Porco) and proceeds to go on the rampage as he searches for his missing gold.

Directed by Steven Kotanski (The Void) this one was actually bloody good fun, boasting some quite inventive, not to mention gorey, kill scenes (the death by solar panel was highly memorable). Plus I liked the way they tried to maintain continuity with the first, with Lila (Taylor Spreitler - Amityville : The Awakening) being apparently releated to the family in part 1, the inclusion of original actor Mark Holton and showing the Leprechaun's strange obsession with shoes.

Of course, don't expect Jennifer Aniston (who was in the original) to put in an appearance and I was slightly dissapointed that Warwick Davis, who played the titlar monster in the original 6 films, wasn't reprising the role (he was apparently offered the part, but declined as he's gone off horror films).

But anyway, fans of the original should love it. The film is available to view Digitally now on Amazon and from all good Digital dowload sites.

"A Sweet and Vicious Beauty" - Now streaming on Amazon

Beheadings, beheadings, beheadings! As many beheadings as you'd want to see in a movie! Amazon Prime is now streaming Gothic horror film "A Sweet and Vicious Beauty"! If you have a Prime account that means it's free!

Legend says that when someone dies, their last breath stays in their throat. Narcissa Sentinel is a sick woman who lives in a rotting mansion in the middle of desolate woods. She has her servants dig up the corpses from the nearby graveyard and bring her the heads, and she inhales the last breath from the mouths of the rotten skulls. She finds herself getting well, and soon realizes that in order to fully cure herself, she needs to move to fresher victims.

A Sweet and Vicious Beauty is a low budget wonder, using stylized sets and rear projections like in 1930s Universal horror films, historic Baltimore mansions for sets, dozens of handmade outfits, and hundreds of trained crows! Plus did someone mention BEHEADINGS???

Starring as Narcissa Sentinel is Bette Cassatt from V/H/S/2, Model Hunger and Tales of Poe, and she also created her makeup design and made all of her own costumes, as well as many more. Sara Cole from Don Dohler's Dead Hunt stars as Ingrid, and Brenden McDougal stars as Ethan.

Eric Thornett wrote and directed the film, and is least known for his movie Shockheaded which was distributed in Blockbuster Video, and is secondly known for falling down the stairs...sometimes on purpose, sometimes by accident, and sometimes by accident and then he claims to have done it on purpose.

"Sweet and Vicious Beauty" is available to stream now on Amazon prime!

Trailer released for post apocalyptic horror RIBBONS

BAFTA Award winning filmmakers Gregor Barclay and Colin Bell release the trailer for RIBBONS, their exciting Post-Apocalyptic horror-thriller.

Check it out below...

Ribbons tells the story of a dinner party gone awry; first through the antagonistic actions of the host, and latterly through the intervention of a nuclear bomb, which detonates in the city beyond and necessitates the end of dinner and the guests' swift departure downstairs to the host's panic room / fallout shelter.

Our host is revealed to be what's known as a doomsday-prepper -his subterranean bunker is equipped with everything that he and his wife need to survive the nuclear winter. Everything has gone according to his fastidious emergency plans – everything except the number of people now sharing the bunker with him. Perhaps there are ways he can thin the herd? It's for the good of humanity, of course...

Kim Allan (Outlaw King), Robert Jack (In Plain Sight), Kirstin McLean (Taggart) and Kirsty Strain (Outlander, Anna and the Apocalypse) star.
