Arrow Video’s February lineup includes a star-studded cyber chiller from Niko Mastorakis, and a deluxe boxset of essential giallo thrills, packed with a host of extra features.

.COM FOR MURDER - On Blu-ray 6th Feb

In cyberspace, no one can hear you scream! This turn-of-the-millennium cyber psycho-thriller from Nico Mastorakis (Island of Death, Nightmare at Noon) showcases the usual gleeful eye for excess and inspired casting (including rock stars Roger Daltrey and Huey Lewis) one has come to expect from the cult director.

Nastassja Kinski (Cat People) stars as Sondra Brummel, a young woman confined to a wheelchair following a skiing accident, who decides to have a bit of fun on an internet dating site with her friend Misty (Nicollette Sheridan - The Sure Thing) while her architect boyfriend Ben (Roger Daltrey The Legacy) leaves her alone for the weekend in the high-tech intelligent mansion he has built for them.

Online anonymity works both ways, however, as they discover when they invoke the ire of a young man going by the handle of “Werther” and find the virtual world violently intruding upon the real, knife in hand…

Nico Mastorakis takes us to the dark side of the web in an audacious and vivacious retooling of classic Hitchcockian thrillers – think Rear Window 2000 meets Dial M for Mastorakis!

GIALLO ESSENTIALS WHITE EDITION - On Limited Edition Blu-ray Feb 23

At the height of the Italian giallo boom of the early 1970s, scores of filmmakers turned their hand to crafting their own unique takes on these lurid murder-mysteries. This volume of Giallo Essentials presents three distinctly different but equally thrilling examples of genre, featuring some of European cult cinema’s most recognizable faces.

In The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, director Emilio P. Miraglia (The Red Queen Kills Seven Times) melds the giallo’s trademark twisty whodunit storytelling with gothic chills, as troubled aristocrat Alan Cunningham (Anthony Steffen - Django the Bastard) is haunted by the specter of his dead wife Evelyn, and the gruesome and untimely deaths of several members of his family.

Next, Riccardo Freda’s (Double Face) The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire finds tough ex-cop John Norton (Luigi Pistilli - A Bay of Blood) drafted in to catch the acid-throwing, razor-wielding maniac who’s terrorizing the streets of Dublin. Finally, Sergio Martino’s (Torso) The Suspicious Death of a Minor melds giallo trappings with elements of the then flourishing poliziotteschi crime thrillers, as undercover cop Paolo Germi (Claudio Cassinelli - What Have They Done to Your Daughters?) hunts a Milanese criminal outfit following the brutal murder of a teenage prostitute.

Brutal violence, globe-trotting intrigue and abundant sleaze collide in these three quintessential gialli, each one fully restored from its original camera negative and presented alongside an array of incisive bonus features.

Female Horror Filmmaker Breaks Crowdfunding Record with H.P. Lovecraft adaptation HAUNTER OF THE DARK

24 year old Megan Tremethick has just burst onto the indie horror filmmaking scene, with a spectacular funding campaign to produce a short film adaptation of THE HAUNTER OF THE DARK by horror legend H.P. Lovecraft. As a first-time horror filmmaker, Megan’s Kickstarter campaign met its ambitious funding goal in just 24 hours, and has already surpassed 500% of that goal in just 6 days.

The success of this young woman may be attributed to an unlikely and charming demeanour, placing her at odds with what one often expects from trendy young filmmakers today. Less about social commentary, hashtags or isms, Megan instead proclaims her love of veteran Horror Icons such as Vincent Price and Edgar Allan Poe.

THE HAUNTER OF THE DARK follows the chilling midnight adventures of a man, who is lured from his bed to investigate the dark recesses of a mysterious church tower. There, and alone in the darkness of that place, he encounters a chilling entity… a silhouetted figure, guarding an ancient crystal of incredible power. A crystal which carries a terrible curse.

The film stars Gordon Holliday, whose visceral performance as an enthusiastic amputee was praised by the Soska Sisters, in Andy Stewart’s festival hit film, "Dysmorphia"

The initial success of Megan’s crowdfunding campaign, has now also led to the successful funding of a second short film entitled, REVENGE OF INNSMOUTH

REVENGE OF INNSMOUTH is a startling horror set in a dystopian future, in which,  in a reversal of roles, the oppressed inhabitants of Innsmouth mount a violent bid for liberation against their hated human oppressors. Caught in the maelstrom of terror during the first night of their revolution is a young waitress, whose diner becomes the setting for brutal violence and unspeakable horror.

But… who are the real monsters? The feared, fish-like creatures of Innsmouth, or the humans who keep them under lock and key?

The campaign now continues to raise funds for both films on Kickstarter, where Megan is offering digital downloads, artwork, production credits and even walk-on roles.

The success of her campaign proves that a passionate audience for classic horror continues to exist, and that among young filmmakers today, there is no lack of affection for historic horror icons whose works continue to stand the test of time.

Last chance to see 2:22 - A GHOST STORY - at the Criterion Theatre, for not-so silent night.

Producer Runaway Entertainment’s edge-of-your-seat, supernatural thriller 2:22 A GHOST STORY is one of the West End’s current major success stories and is set to transfer to its largest venue the Lyric Theatre where previews begin on 21 January. There are just 6 weeks left to see the current cast Tamsin Carroll, Felix Scott, Laura Whitmore and Matt Willis, with the final performance at the Criterion on 8 January.

With a range of pantos and numerous Christmas Carol’s on stage this festival season,
2:22 - A GHOST STORY brings new meaning to the phrase ‘behind you!’ and definitely has more jump-scares than the classic Dickens tale.  This is a ghost story for the modern age with more night terrors than Scrooge can shake a stick at.
Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and her new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they are going to stay up… until 2.22am… and then they will know.
The production began its life last summer at the Noel Coward Theatre starring Lily Allen, Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood. It then transferred to the Gielgud Theatre for 10 weeks from 4 December 2021. The production there, starring Stephanie Beatriz, James Buckley, Elliot Cowan and Giovanna Fletcher, completed its run on 12 February 2022. The current cast at the Criterion Theatre features Tom Felton as Sam, Mandip Gill as Jenny, Beatriz Romilly as Lauren and Sam Swainsbury as Ben. The US premiere of 2:22 - A GHOST STORY opened at the Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles in October and runs until 4 December 2022.
2:22 - A GHOST STORY is written by award-winning writer Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist and the recently critically acclaimed The Witch Farm, and it is directed by Matthew Dunster. Intriguing, funny and scary, it takes audiences into one adrenaline-fueled night where secrets will emerge and ghosts may appear….What do you believe? And do you dare to discover the truth?
2:22 - A GHOST STORY is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Isobel David and Kater Gordon.

Bring in the New Year with Rob Zombie's THE MUNSTERS on Disc!

Mediumrare Entertainment announces the horror comedy THE MUNSTERS is being released on Collector’s Edition DVD and Blu-ray on 2 January 2023, complete with must-see extra features.
From writer/director Rob Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects) comes the strangest love story ever told! Based on the beloved TV series from the 1960s about a family of friendly monsters trying to fit in, Zombie’s version features Sheri Moon Zombie (Halloween) and Jeff Daniel Phillips (Westworld) as Lily and Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck (Final Destination) as The Count. The cast also includes Doctor Who himself, Sylvester McCoy, as Igor, Lost star Jorge Garcia, and genre superstar Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

Lily is just your typical 150-year-old, lovelorn vampire looking for the man of her nightmares . . . that is until she lays eyes on Herman, a seven-foot-tall, green experiment with a heart of gold. It’s love at first shock as these two ghouls fall fangs over feet in this crazy Transylvanian romance. Unfortunately, it’s not all smooth sailing in the cemetery as Lily’s father The Count has other plans for his beloved daughter’s future, and they don’t involve her bumbling beau Herman.
Filmed in bright day-glo colours, brimming with hilarious jokes and monstrously funny slapstick, not to mention all the werewolves, vampires and witches you can handle, this is a delightfully gothic delight that ghouls and gals of all ages will love. With nods to vintage horror classics along the way, and a beautiful tribute to the original series, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll howl at the moon as THE MUNSTERS make their way to Mockingbird Lane!

Action-horror series NIGHTSHADE by Neil Marshall & Simon Uttley - Coming Soon

London/Singapore-based international content investment studio 108 Media will finance, co-develop, and produce the upcoming premium live-action supernatural-action returning series NIGHTSHADE (6 x 60’) with co-showrunners Simon Uttley and Neil Marshall, who will be directing the pilot.

Sprung from the deep genre wellspring of the Marshall-Uttley writing partnership, the world of NIGHTSHADE is set in a bustling 18th century English port city visited by a diverse manner of international traders, rogues, and vagabonds.

We meet our heroine – the half English and half Indian outcast Lizzie Monroe who transforms herself into a defiant masked outlaw avenger – Nightshade – to rescue her brother James from the treacherous underworld realm of The Veil, where werewolves, demons, warlocks, and evil creatures beyond our imagination reside, after he is slain by a monstrous satanic cult run by powerfully sinister men in politics, religion, and industry.

During their treacherous journey back to one another, the Monroes will discover that the supernatural forces arrayed against them represent merely the vanguard of a far greater threat and that they are caught in the opening salvos of a war between humanity and the forces of darkness.

Having helmed some of the most iconic genre touchpoints in films (Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Hellboy) and television (Games of Thrones, Westworld, Timeless, Hannibal, Lost in Space, Constantine) as a writer-director in the past two decades, the Emmy-nominated Neil Marshall notes – “Make no mistake about it, this will be a Neil Marshall show through and through. When it’s scary, and it will be, often, then it will be very scary. When it’s necessary to be violent, it will be violent. Every punch will land hard and break bones, and every sword thrust will cut and sting.”

Co-showrunner Simon Uttley, who conceptualised the world-building with Marshall and will co-write the series adds – “We could not be more excited to bring the story of Nightshade to the screen with our partners at 108 Media. This is a character and a world we’ve dreamed of exploring. Nightshade is adventure, heroism, horror, action, mystery, and mythology - and we cannot wait for audiences to see what we have in store for you all.”

Joining Neil Marshall and Simon Uttley as executive producers will be 108 Media’s Abhi Rastogi, Justin Deimen, and Rod Smith.

KING KONG (1976) - 4K re-issue coming December from StudioCanal.

STUDIOCANAL have announced a brand new 4K restoration of John Guillermin’s (Blazing Inferno, Death on the Nile) Academy Award Winning remake of iconic Hollywood classic, KING KONG (1976).
Fred Wilson (Charles Grodin), an employee of a large American oil company, has been charged with a mission to find new oil wells. With a chartered boat, he sets off on a journey to an uninhabited island in the South Pacific. On board is also a stowaway: the palaeontologist Jack Prescott (Jeff Bridges) has smuggled himself onto the ship, as he hopes to examine a rare species of monkey on this island. On the way, after a violent storm, the expedition also takes on board the shipwrecked Dawn (Jessica Lange), who is floating in a lifeboat at sea.
When the ship anchors off the island, however, it turns out not to be as uninhabited as everyone once thought. The natives of the island perform a strange ritual to worship a larger-than-life ape named "Kong".   As soon as they catch sight of the blonde Dawn, they decide they have found their perfect offering.
Starring Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, Crazy Heart, True Grit) and Jessica Lange (Tootsie, American Horror Story), and produced by Hollywood legend Dino de Laurentiis (Flash Gordon, Nights of Cabiria, Barbarella), this retelling of the classic monster adventure film went on to jointly win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects (Carlo Rambaldi, Glen Robinson and Frank Van der Veer), as well as receiving Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography (Richard H. Xmas Horror THE LEECH - On UK Blu-Ray, December...

From Black Christmas to Rare Exports, there has long been a symbiotic relationship between horror and the season of good cheer. Now, writer/director Eric Pennycoff (Sadistic Intentions) continues this proud tradition with THE LEECH, a cautionary tale about the perils of opening your door to a stranger.
Father David (Graham Skipper - Sequence Break), a Catholic priest struggling to fill the pews in his church, allows a homeless man, Terry (Jeremy Gardner - After Midnight), into his home to escape the December chill. But this simple act of kindness has unforeseen consequences when Terry’s pregnant girlfriend, Lexi (Taylor Gardner - Sadistic Intentions), also decides to crash at the parochial house.
Determined to save the warring couple through the healing power of God’s love, David’s ordered existence quickly unravels as he succumbs to the wicked ways of the parasitic pair. Will he pass this apparent test of faith or resort to blood-soaked, Old Testament justice?
Agonisingly intense and rib-ticklingly funny in equal measure, THE LEECH serves as both a festive frightmare and a microcosm of the fault lines of contemporary America. Arrow Video is proud to present this latest inductee into the Christmas horror hall of fame!

DON'T DRINK THE VIPER! In the sleazy, foreboding world of winos & derelicts in mid-80's New York City, two young runaways - Fred and his younger brother Kevin - live in a tire igloo in the back of a vast auto wrecking yard. Fred takes out his anger at the world, but Kevin yearns to rejoin society and lead a normal life.
Threats abound on all sides: A gang of bums calling themselves the Flatbush Foot Brigade are hunting Fred for money he stole from their leader Bronson, a homicidal veteran that carries a knife carved from a human femur bone. There's also a hard-nosed cop, a vengeful Mafia don, the lecherous junkyard owner and a wisecracking doorman, none of whom are particularly fond of our unwashed heroes.
But the most lethal threat is the case of Tenafly Viper wine at Ed's Liquor Store. He found the swill in the dusty basement and is selling it for a dollar per bottle. Only problem is the stuff's gone bad - real bad - and anyone that drinks it melts into a puddle of bubbly, toxic goo!
The brothers must overcome these obstacles - and find peace with each other - if they're to have any hope of survival!
For the FIRST TIME EVER... A movie-to-comics adaptation by the creators of the original cult classic monsterpiece!
Mike Lackey played Fred and created gore effects for STREET TRASH, often called the "Ultimate Melt Movie!" Now he's written and drawn a magnum opus that's bigger, badder and brasher than everyone's favorite Video Nasty! As a writer and managing editor for Marvel Comics, Mike contributed to Amazing Spider-Man, Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, The Punisher, G.I. Joe, Conan the Barbarian, What If?, Ren & Stimpy and Beavis & Butt-Head.
Roy Frumkes wrote and produced the STREET TRASH movie, and he's closely supervised the creation of this graphic novel to ensure it's every bit as outrageous to appease our rabid fans! Roy was also screenwriter for The Substitute, appeared in the original Dawn of the Dead as the Pie-in-the-Face Zombie, and produced The Meltdown Memoirs and Document of the Dead.
Cool Stuff About This Book:
- 244 pages of hilarious, hyper-detailed art rendered in glorious black & white in the tradition of Creepy, Eerie and MAD Magazine.
- See the secret origins of all your favorite bums, winos and miscreants!
- Includes a special ALL-TRUE BONUS feature, Cool Heads Prevail, chronicling how a young Mike Lackey carried rubber prop heads from the STREET TRASH set on to a commuter train and ran afoul with transit police. See Mike's actual mugshot!
- Great for fans of pervasive bad language, violence and other naughty stuff.

Reviews for the STREET TRASH movie:

"Loathsome, foul, and degrading, a treat for anyone that thinks they've seen it all." - George A. Romero

"STREET TRASH is the most offensive movie I've ever seen. It deliberately goes where no movie has ever gone before." - Tom Savini

STREET TRASH: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL is available exclusively on Amazon in both hardcover and paperback versions.
