FrightFest Halloween 2022 & The Damned presents A NIGHT OF A THOUSAND VAMPIRES

THE DAMNED announce the official premiere of upcoming concert film, A NIGHT OF A THOUSAND VAMPIRES, as part of FrightFest Halloween on Thursday 27 October. This exclusive preview screening will be held at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, tickets on sale now.

Back in October 2019, THE DAMNED took the stage at London’s prestigious Palladium for a very special, immersive musical and theatrical experience. Now, three years later, this unique event will be released as a live album and concert film, out officially on 28 Oct on earMUSIC - watch the trailer here and pre-order here.

A Night of A Thousand Vampires teams the band with the cast of The Circus of Horrors for an evening of shock, awe, and a fierce live rampage through their 40-year rich catalogue. A true event from showmen supreme, it was a historic night in the history of a storied band and a memorable evening for fans and band alike. It was also a fond farewell for drummer Pinch, his final gig with THE DAMNED after 20 years.

Following the premiere screening there will be a Q&A with band members Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Paul Gray, Monty Oxymoron, and also director Martin Gooch. Gooch made his debut in 2011 directing mysterious comedy Death, starring Paul Freeman and comedy legend Leslie Phillips. He’s since worked on BAFTA-winning and EMMY-nominated productions, as well as winning dozens of Best Director and Best Production accolades at festivals worldwide, including the prestigious World Fest Best Director and Bram Stoker Best Director awards. His 2019 one-shot short film A Midwinter Night’s Dream was narrated by Dave Vanian, leading Gooch to then direct A Night Of A Thousand Vampires.

Ian Rattray, Co-director of FrightFest says: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this special screening in partnership with THE DAMNED, one of the greatest British rock bands ever. It will indeed be a night to remember for those of us amongst the living... and the undead!”

With the band and audience in full vampire attire, A NIGHT OF A THOUSAND VAMPIRES sees David Vanian transform from Dracula into Nosferatu, ‘Neat Neat Neat’ morph into ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’, and fire-eaters and trapeze artists dazzle to a set that includes classics such as ‘Wait For the Blackout’ and rare performances of appropriate covers like ‘People Are Strange’ and ‘Eloise’.

Now in its 22nd year, FrightFest is holding their Halloween extravaganza on Saturday 29 Oct with screenings including The Soska Sisters’ ON THE EDGE, Joe LoTruglio’s debut feature OUTPOST, documentary premiere TRIPPING THE DARK FANTASTIC and many more. The spooky celebrations start early this year, with THE DAMNED’s exclusive premiere on Thursday 27 Oct.
