George A. Romero Between Night & Dawn - Out 23rd October

Three films from the late, legendary horror director, George A. Romero, showing that although he might have defined zombie cinema, it didn’t define him.  There’s Always Vanilla, Season of the Witch and The Crazies, made between Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, showcase the extraordinary versatility and dynamism of this irreplaceable American auteur.

When George A. Romero passed away in July, the film world didn’t just lose its beloved ‘King of Zombies’, but also a groundbreaking and fearless innovator who inspired not only generations of genre directors, but also experimental and guerilla filmmakers for whom he laid down the template.

The three films collected in this box set - two early Seventies ‘lost films’ and a classic plague panic thriller - show there’s more to the legendary director than simply gut-munching ghouls. The comedy romance There’s Always Vanilla, psychological thriller Season of the Witch, and infection horror The Crazies - all filmed in and around Pittsburgh - serve to display the broader thematic concerns and auteurist leanings of a skilled craftsman too often pigeonholed within the genre; that said, The Crazies is one of his strongest horror offerings, with memorable performances from Lynn Lowry and Richard Liberty.

Romero managed to inject his films with subtle social allegories, nuanced examinations of the human condition, and just the right amount of black humour, so that they were immediately recognisable as his and his alone. The box set showcases the director feeling his way towards the mainstream and showing a formidable assurance in three very distinct genres.

This fantastic box set includes brand new restorations of the three films, a lavish 60-page booklet featuring new writing on this fascinating chapter of Romero’s career, a wealth of extras including interviews, featurettes and behind the scenes documentaries, reversible sleeves for all three films featuring original and newly-commissioned artwork, and a beautifully designed and striking slipcase featuring an iconic image of the man himself.

LEATHERFACE - Horror Channel FrightFest 2017 World Premiere 25th August

The eagerly-awaited, nerve-shattering prequel to the legendary The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, exploring the chilling origin of the fearsome horror icon, from the directors of the extreme French masterpiece Inside.

A young nurse is kidnapped by four violent teens after they escape from a psychiatric hospital, and take her on a road trip to hell. Pursued by an equally deranged, trigger-happy lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind - moulding him into the monster we now know as Leatherface.

When the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre burst onto the screen in 1974, a new horror legend was born, in the form of a mumbling, bumbling, flesh-masked, chainsaw wielding maniac - Leatherface! Seven films and untold gruesome deaths later, audiences can finally find out who lurks behind the mask - and how he got there, in this stylish, scary and blood-soaked prequel.

The directors - masters of horror Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury - are a perfect fit for the material, having shocked audiences with their 2007 gory Gallic debut Inside, described by Twitch as ‘one of the harshest, most brutal and disturbing things to hit celluloid in recent years’.  Here, the pair deliver brooding menace and nightmarish psychological horror, all the while ratcheting up the tension to the ninth degree.

With a fantastic cast - including genre favourites Stephen Dorff (Blade) and Lili Taylor (The Conjuring), as well as Game of Thrones star Finn Jones, this is a worthy addition to the Chainsaw franchise, and a thrilling examination of the genesis of a monster ranked alongside Freddy and Jason as one of the greatest horror characters ever.

Getting its world premiere on Friday 25th August at this year’s prestigious Horror Channel FrightFest 2017 in London, this is a big moment in the annals horror cinema - the unmasking of a maniac - that will have horror fans drooling with delight.

A Millennium Films production, directed by Julien Maury & Alexandre Bustillo from the screenplay by Seth M. Sherwood, based on the characters created by Kim Henkle & Tobe Hooper.

The behind-the-scenes team fulfilling the vision of acclaimed French directors Julien Maury & Alexandre Bustillo includes director of photography Antoine Sanier, production designer Alain Bainee, editors Sebastien De Saint Croix & Josh Ethier and costume designer Ina Damyanova with casting by Jeremy Zimmermann and music by David Buckley.

LEATHERFACE will receive its world premiere at Horror Channel FrightFest 2017 on Friday 25th August, and will release on DVD & Blu-ray 9th January 2018 courtesy of Lionsgate UK and Lionsgate Home Entertainment UK.

Terror lurks inside THE DOMICILE - this August

Coming to US VOD and DVD this August. Russel Brody, a one-time successful playwright, works diligently on a follow-up play that could land him back in the spotlight he so early craves. With a baby on the way, however, and a strained marriage, stress and frustration take center stage.

When his wife accidentally stumbles down the stairs and dies from her injuries, Brody's mental state goes from bad to one of utter despair. In a bid to help his friend regain his sanity, Brody's co-writer David Stanley suggests he revisits Lucy, his former mistress.

The ghost of Brody's dead wife awakens to the sordid details of his unfaithfulness, enraging her supernatural spirit to haunt him in every horrifying way imaginable. At first, Brody thinks he's hallucinating and hearing things in his head, the result of his state of mind and alcohol. But as things intensify, his grip on sanity quickly slips away, and he starts to go mad.

Appearing in every shadow, and provoking him relentlessly, the ghost cranks up her onslaught, making his life a living hell. Brody reaches his breaking point when the ghost possesses his former mistress, and he's forced to confront the scorned entity -- resulting in a climax of both psychological and physical terror.

Starring Steve Richard Harris (Evil Nanny), Demetrius Stear (Death Pool), Katherine Flannery (Zombie Pizza) and Sara Malakul Lane (King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table), The Domicile from MTI Home Video, hits US DVD and VOD August 22.

Bitten - The Complete First Series on 3-Disc DVD, 9th October

4Digital Media Presents "Bitten: The Complete First Series" on UK DVD this October.

Elena Michaels is torn between two lives: the human life she was born into... and the werewolf life she was bitten into...

Elena wants the same things most twenty-five year old women want: a stable home, a loving family, and a meaningful relationship. But unlike most women, she’ll never get these things, because her life is a little more complicated than most – being the world’s only female werewolf.

Elena was formerly a member of THE PACK, the powerful organized werewolf family that enforces a strict code of werewolf laws. Laws that ensure humans are safe among rogue werewolves, known as MUTTS.

The Pack also makes certain that werewolf existence remains a secret, because if it ever became known that their kind existed, a fearful public would hunt them down and exterminate them from the face of the planet. Elena had broken away from the Pack, trying to re-establish a human life, but at the outset of the series she’s dragged back into the “family business”, much to her dismay. And it’s not long until all hell breaks loose...

"Bitten: The Complete First Series" comes to UK DVD 9th October.

REVEALED: Graham Humphreys' stunning artwork for Horror Channel FrightFest 2017

Horror Channel FrightFest is delighted to present Graham Humphreys’ stunning artwork for this year’s annual Bank Holiday event, the UK’s largest celebration of genre cinema, taking place at Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema between Thurs Aug 24 & Mon Aug 28, 2017.

Celebrating a return to one of FrightFest’s former homes (The Empire) and the revival of some familiar characters to the festival line up, such as Chucky, Victor Crowley & Leatherface. were inspirations behind the concept.

Graham reveals: “My image is an attempt to amalgamate the Gothic roots of horror with the 70s Monster revival that saturated the US and UK, inspiring generations of filmmakers that created some of the most successful film franchises and oddities of the last 40 years. Universal monsters meets 70s bubble gum pop. I also thought it would be fun to play with the idea of a FrightFest Phantom, the face behind the best in horror and added the scratches and dirt to make it look like old damaged film stock.”

Tickets for Frightfest are on sale now from http://www.frightfest.co.uk/

Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema invite you to brave the ultimate scare challenge of babysitting Annabelle, the demonic doll from James Wan’s The Conjuring universe, later this month.

The immersive horror experience, conjured up by some of the creative team behind David Copperfield and featuring actual props from the hotly anticipated new film Annabelle: Creation, opening in cinemas across the U.K. on 11th August, will combine magic effects, directional sound and immersive theatre to give visitors the fright of their lives. It has been brought to life in close consultation with the filmmakers, including director David F. Sandberg.

Taking place in a creepy, purpose-built Victorian mansion on the site of the Town Hall in Stratford, East London. Annabelle’s House promises to give guests the most nail-biting twenty minutes of their lives using fright techniques prepared especially for this challenge.

Participants will initially be asked to babysit a seemingly innocent eleven-year-old girl whilst exploring the set, which is filled with genuine props from Annabelle: Creation. But it won’t be long before the long-dormant demon inside the Annabelle doll, an unholy force intent on stealing human souls, comes to life and possesses the entire house. Additional frights are being kept under wraps for this unrivalled scare experience.

Annabelle’s House will open its doors to the public in East London for a limited time from 27th July following journalist and celebrity previews. It marks the release of Annabelle: Creation, a new chapter in the Conjuring universe, which lands at UK screens on 11th August.

Thrill seekers can now apply for tickets at the Warner Bros website

The experience lasts 20 minutes and is very much not for the faint of heart.
