British zombie film DARKEST DAY comes to US VOD

Brit indie zombie film "Darkest Day" will be getting a VOD release in the US this may. The film was released in the UK back in 2015, but has only just made its way stateside and is being released by Wild Eye Releasing.

Directed by Dan Rickard, who also plays the lead role. A young man wakes up on a beach with no memory of how he got there. He discovers an empty city ravaged by a deadly virus and those infected attacking all in their path.

After befriending a small group of survivors, it soon becomes clear that the army is hunting them for the secret to a cure, and the group is forced into a dangerous fight for freedom against both the military and the monsters.

The US release will be slightly shorter than the current one available in the UK and Europe, as the director has re-edited a number of extraneous dialogue scenes to improve the pacing (and having seen both versions, the shorter US release actually flows much better).
