[REC 4] : Apoclypse, comes to UK disc.

Coming to UK disc in March, the blood-splattered final instalment of one of the most iconic franchises in contemporary horror – [REC]! And the horror’s about to come full circle, with the series’ original star and director – Manuela Velasco and Jaume Balagueró – returning for more terrifying fun, as the deadly demonic virus wreaks havoc on a voyage from hell!

 

Following directly on from the brutal events in the doomed apartment building, TV reporter Ángela is rescued and taken to an oil tanker to undergo examination.

But unfortunately for the soldiers on board, Angela is carrying the seed of the mysterious demonic virus that turns its victims into mindless, bloodthirsty monsters. It’s only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose and the carnage begins again…

Not only is this one of the most revered modern horror franchises, it’s also one of the most innovative. With each instalment it adds new twists and tricks, keeping the series fresh, relevant, and brilliantly brutal.

Ghost Stories show to close in March...

Ghost Stories, the West End's scariest show has announced that it will close its doors for the last time on 15th march (2015) after nearly 1000 performances, five years since its premiere, playing to over 400,000 people worldwide.

 

 

Written and directed by Jeremy Dyson (The Leaugue of Gentlemen) and Andy Nyman, (Severence, Deadset), along with the Lyric theatre's Artistic Director Sean Holmes, the show went on to become the Lyric Hammersmith's biggest success to date, breaking all box office records with an extended run to meet public demand.

 

The production, which had already begun to develop a cult following among horror fans and theatregoers alike, then transferred to the Duke of York's theatre in 2011. Running for over a year to full houses and spine chilling screams every night, the play toured Toronto and Moscow, putting hearts in mouths wherever it went.

 

In 2014, Ghost Stories reopened at the West End Arts Theatre, who hosted the stage phenomenon, breaking all box office records in its history, including playing to a record number of people in one night on the spookiest night of the year, Halloween.

Ghost Stories mixes the very best of theatre with the intense buzz of a thrill ride, delivering something truly unique. With some new moments of shock, the show is a stage fright like no other - 80 rollercoaster minutes of chilling laughs and the scariest fun you'll  ever have in the theatre.

"Wolves" comes to UK DVD this March.

David Hayter, screenwriter of X-Men and The Watchmen, proves he’s got some serious bite behind the camera with his directorial debut. Packed with blood, fights and plenty of frights "WOLVES" stars Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa and X-Men’s Lucas Till, you’d be howling mad to miss this this dark and deliciously sharp horror.

 

When high-school student Cayden (Till) finds his parents have been brutally murdered, he goes on the run and arrives in the small town of Lupine Ridge, where he discovers the hairy truth to his nature…

 

The town is home to feuding clans of werewolves, and when Cayden starts to fall for the beautiful Angelina (Patterson) he finds himself as love-rival of brutal clan alpha and pureblood lycan Connor (Momoa). But can Cayden survive and get the girl as the werewolves prepare for a fight to the death?

 

As no stranger to innovative genre writing, Hayter’s script is packed with razor sharp wit – it not only has fun with the werewolf myth, but also reinvents it for modern horror fans, creating a genuinely original twist in the tail. But while it’s a coming-of-age tale at heart, Wolves doesn’t hold back on the action and horror either. There’s plenty for fans of both old school monster movies and modern horror cinema, while it still feels like a throwback to the bloodline of 1980s teen horrors, such as The Lost Boys. Especially brilliant is "Wolves"’ use of retro practical effects over CGI, recalling the transformations and make-up from classics such as The Wolf Man, An American Werewolf in London and The Howling.

There’s also a hugely enjoyable cast, as rising stars Lucas Till and Merritt Patterson making for a charming leading pair, and genre favourite Jason Momoa sinks his teeth into his villainous role with bloodthirsty relish. It’s a howler.

Danny Trejo takes on "The Burning Dead" on US DVD/VOD

Director Rene Perez's "THE BURNING DEAD" (formerly VOLCANO ZOMBIES), starring action superstar Danny Trejo (MACHETE, TVs SONS OF ANARCHY), arrives March 3rd on digital and VOD in the US and sears onto US DVD a month later, April 7th.

 

Written and produced by Jeff Miller and Jason Ancona (co-writers and producers of AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYAN), "THE BURNING DEAD" pits a a horde of lava-filled zombies against a sheriff charged with the plight to rescue an estranged family from a volcano eruption. Trejo plays Night Wolf, a Native American warrior who knows way too much about the curse that unearthed the coffin dodgers.

Tom Downey (SORORITY PARTY MASSACRE), Moniqua Plante (“Nashville”), Robert F. Lyons (DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW, 10 TO MIDNIGHT), Julia Lehman (CHEERLEADER MASSACRE 2), Tom Nagel (HILLSIDE CANNIBALS), and Morgan Lester (JOHN CARTER) also star.
