Icon Film Distribution is pleased to confirm that THE INFLUENCER PROJECT will be hitting UK & Irish cinemas nationwide from 16th October.

Having forever revolutionised the world of horror with their 1999 hit, the visionaries behind The Blair Witch Project (co-creator Eduardo Sánchez and producer Gregg Hale) make a highly anticipated return to their found-footage roots, now with a strikingly modern spin on the concept as they take on the controversies of social media and the dangers of parasocial relationships.

British beauty and lifestyle influencer Chiara King leads this twisted tale inspired by her own experiences with stalkers, bringing a chillingly realistic edge to the story. A hugely popular online star, she has already amassed more than 4.2 million followers on TikTok and 1.4 million on Instagram. The film also marks the directorial debut of Mike Nybroe.

Influencer Chiara King travels to Copenhagen with a documentary crew promising an unfiltered look behind the glamorous business of online fame. But as the cameras and her devoted fans follow her every move, someone else is watching too. When an obsessive stalker begins closing in, the documentary mutates into something far more terrifying, blurring the line between content and evidence, follower and predator, fact and fiction
