ELEVATOR gives the Horror Channel a lift this April.

April sees the Horror Channel broadcast the UK TV premieres of Steven Mena’s critically-acclaimed psychological slasher BEREAVEMENT, Kelly Smith’s serial killer shocker DON’T LET HIM IN and Stig Svendsen’s  white-knuckle suspense thriller ELEVATOR.

This gripping story of a child who is abducted and forced to bear witness to a madman's crimes is American director Steven Mena’s prequel to his previous film Malevolence. DON’T LET HIM IN (2011) - Sat Apr 20 @ 22:55 (UK Premiere)

What happens if you invite a serial killer on holiday? This nerve-bludgeoning horror thriller, directed by UK first-timer Kelly Smith, follows the brutal story of two couples spending a weekend in the country, only to discover they are in the company of a vicious killer dubbed ‘The Tree Surgeon’. The cast includes Sophie Linfield (FOOTBALL FACTORY) and Gordon Alexander (SUCKER PUNCH).

It’s the night of a gala cocktail party for the Barton Investment Company at their swanky Manhattan high-rise offices. Nine people enter the lift headed for the penthouse but on the way up a practical joke stalls the elevator fifty floors up. Suspenseful twists and turns reveal one of the occupants is carrying a bomb. American Director Stig Svendsen takes us on a deftly paced white-knuckle ride.

EEEK - Issue 10 preview

Sightseers - out on UK DVD NOW!!!!

In case you missed it at the cinema, "Sightseers", the jet-black horror comedy from director Ben Wheatley (Kill List), is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray here in the UK.

 

Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world and he wants to do it his way - on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan.

Tina's led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see - the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that accompanies these wonders in his life.

"Dead End Drive In" comes to UK DVD.

Arrow Video’s ArrowDrome imprint are pleased to confirm the UK Home Entertainment debut of “Dead End Drive-In”, the Ozploitation classic from acclaimed English director Brian Trenchard-Smith (Turkey Shoot, Leprechaun 3).

 

“Dead End Drive-In” is one of the classic grindhouse movies, pitting the dregs of society against each other in a crazed battle of atomic punks, burnt out junkers, and a totally corrupt police force.

 

Set in an apocalyptic future, where crimes rates have spiralled out of control and the economy has permanently collapsed, those in charge have found a perfect solution to the rise of lawlessness... Tom Six joins "Shortcuts to Hell" Judging Panel

 

 

OK, you might remember the "666 Shorcuts to Hell" short film competition I posted about the other month? Well the organisers have just announced that controversial director Tom Six will be joining the judging panel to help select the winner.

 

Six said today that he was 'delighted' and 'flattered' to be invited to join the panel and was looking forward to hopefully meeting the six finalists at this year's FrightFest event in August.

 

Rosie Fletcher, Total Film Magazine’s genre expert, will make up the ‘6 of the best’ panel, which also includes filmmaker/Special Make-up Effects expert Paul Hyett. Horror Channel presenter Emily Booth, FrightFest director Paul McEvoy and Movie Mogul’s John Shackleton.

 

The hottest short film competition around challenges aspiring filmmakers to make a short horror film - the best six of which will be shown on Horror Channel and at the 2013 Film4 FrightFest event. The overall winner will receive a prize fund of £6,666 and the opportunity to develop a horror short or feature idea under mentorship from Movie Mogul, for a possible 2014 production.

 

Entrants will have to follow a series of 'killer' restraints such as a maximum of 6 lines of dialogue, a maximum of 6 cast and crew members and a maximum budget of £666.
