Horror Graphic Novel INVASION NANO SAPIENS launches Indiegogo campaign.

Jackhammer Entertainment is pleased to announce the Indiegogo crowdfunding pre-launch of our campaign to produce the forthcoming original sci-fi/horror graphic novel, INVASION NANO SAPIENS, created and written by screenwriter/designer Corky Arnold, (www.jackhammer.cc) and graphic novel artist Ian J. Miller(www.ianjmiller.com).

“Invasion Nano Sapiens” tells the story of a young, maverick scientist, Fulton Bengis, who creates experimental blood with living nano robotic red and white blood cells and platelets that can improve body functions and kill disease. But when his love, Alison Wintergreen, injects the blood without his knowledge to eradicate her terminal disease, she becomes the hive for a swarm of super-intelligent nanobots that turn her into a deadly being – Nano Sapiens. Fulton risks everything as he tries to save her life.

“Invasion Nano Sapiens” is based on real nano robotic experiments going on now around the world and is the embryonic journey of what could come in medicine to kill cancer and other diseases – unless something goes horribly wrong… It depicts a new threat to human existence not seen anywhere else – and could happen.

“Invasion Nano Sapiens” started as an original screenplay by Corky Arnold, who is a sold screenwriter – as well as award-winning DGA director who has also designed effects for movies like “Star Trek.” The graphic novel is the first step toward making the movie. Credits for the team at Jackhammer Entertainment, where Corky is a partner, span Sci fi and horror movies released by Lionsgate to commercials for global brands like Coca Cola and Skittles.

Artist Ian Miller’s credits for comics and graphic novels include Z-MAN, a horror/zombie comic book series adapted into award-winning animation for Amazon Studios.

BBC's WAR OF THE WORLDS comes to DVD and Digital

BBC Television's adaptation of HG Wells THE WAR OF THE WORLDS will be released to DVD and on Digital this December.

Set in Edwardian England, The War of the Worlds stars Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Hot Fuzz) as George and Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark, The White Queen) as his partner Amy, attempting to survive an extra-terrestrial attack in this major new television adaptation of H.G. Wells’ seminal tale. Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty, Trainspotting, The Beach) also stars as friend and scientist Ogilvy, whose experiments could be vital to driving back the Martian invasion.

After a huge meteor strikes Horsell Common in Surrey, England, the inhabitants of Earth face a vicious attack by an unknown alien race. Amidst the chaos, George leaves his loveless marriage in the hope of starting a new life with Amy, despite the condemnation of the community around them.

But for George and Amy, alongside every other human on the planet, this plan is suddenly interrupted when they soon find themselves fighting for their survival against a ruthless enemy beyond their comprehension - an enemy determined to destroy humanity and conquer the planet. Adapted by Peter Harness, this visceral thriller delivers a riveting and atmospheric collision of science fiction, period drama and horror - bringing one of literature’s most notorious foes vividly to life.

THE WAR OF THE WORLDS is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment and is released December 2nd.

BACURAU in UK cinemas March 2020

Curated global streaming service and theatrical film distributor MUBI is delighted to announce the UK theatrical release of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize Winner BACURAU in cinemas nationwide 13 March 2020, followed by an exclusive streaming launch on MUBI on 27 March 2020.

Bacurau, a small settlement in Brazil’s remote backcountry, is shaken by the death of its elderly matriarch. But something strange is happening in the village, and there’s little time for mourning. The water supply has been cut off, animals are stampeding through the streets, and empty coffins are turning up on the roadside. One morning, the villagers wake up to find their home has disappeared from satellite maps completely. Under threat from an unknown enemy, Bacurau braces itself for a bloody, brutal fight for survival.

With unforgettable performances from Bárbara Colen, Udo Kier and Sonia Braga, this is an audacious, original and spectacularly violent blend of neo-Western, revenge thriller and political allegory. Tipping its hat to Sergio Leone and John Carpenter, it’s a whirlwind of genre twists and surrealist turns guaranteed to leave you punch-drunk and reeling.

Following the critically-acclaimed NEIGHBOURING SOUNDS and AQUARIUS, Kleber Mendonça Filho shares directorial credit with long-time collaborator Juliano Dornelles in this uniquely hallucinatory and satirical parable.

BACURAU IS IN CINEMAS IN THE UK AND IRELAND FROM 13 MARCH 2020 AND COMING TO MUBI 27 MARCH 2020
