Synopsis:
Matt Logan, an ex-special forces soldier and known as the man who can track down anyone, is given the job of finding a military experiment – known as “Screature” – gone wrong.

Indie horror actress Ayvianna Snow welcomes 2024 with pivitol role in BURNT FLOWERS

UK indie horror icon Ayvianna Snow returns to the screen with three new films for the first quarter 2024.

Cult director Michael Fausti's much anticipated second feature film, BURNT FLOWERS (premieres January 2024), sees Ayvianna Snow join fellow horror luminaries Dani Thompson and Laurence R. Harvey in this haunting and surreal Horror-Noir from one of the UK's most original horror directors.

 

Burnt Flowers focuses upon a mysterious femme fatale, Alice Kyteller (Ayvianna Snow), who approaches Detective Francis Alban (Amber Doig-Thorne) to search for her missing husband. The detective's search leads her to a 1960s serial killer, who was never caught, a violent gangster and ultimately… herself.  

 

The film stars Ayvianna Snow in a commanding central performance in a role that recalls the shape-shifting femme fatales of classic film noir. Snow's portrayal of Alice Kyteller leads the audience into the dark past of the 1960s criminal underworld and an obsessive, destructive love affair. 

 

Michael Fausti commented, "Ayvianna was just perfect for the role of Alice Kyteller. From the moment she arrived on set, she just nailed the sophistication and unassailable confidence of the character. She is a consummate professional who made the role her own. We are delighted she came on board and supported the project." 

 

BURNT FLOWERS premieres at the UK Horror-On-Sea Film Festival on Saturday 20th January 2024. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

 

In the new film PUNCH (available to stream from mid-January), a gothic, end-of-the-pier slasher, Ayvianna makes a memorable cameo as a striking but ill-fated party guest who becomes an unfortunate victim of the local seaside bogeyman, Mr Punch.  

 

Ayvianna also stars in the upcoming film BOGIEVILLE, set for release in Spring 2024 & directed by veteran 'bad guy' actor Sean Cronin.

NYX UK launches FrightFest Saturday Scares with Alan Jones

Coming to NYX UK from Saturday 20th Jan is a treat for horror fans - FrightFest Saturday Scares with Alan Jones, a brand new show, where our favourite genre critic, author and broadcaster goes behind the scenes with some of his favourite films, sharing personal anecdotes, revealing rarely known facts and sharing why the films have made such a lasting impression.

Broadcast twice a month, we kick off with Mario Bava’s archetypal giallo BLOOD ON BLACK LACE at 9pm on Saturday 20 Jan. In a first for a live streaming Fast TV channel, Alan will introduce the film, take over the ad breaks and conclude at the end of the screening. Shockmeister William Castle’s 13 GHOSTS is the second film in the series, screening at 9pm on Saturday 27 Jan. It is produced by FrightFest’s Ian Rattray and Greg Day.

Alan commentated: “When NYX offered me the opportunity to talk about some of my favourite titles they have in their impressive and extensive library, I jumped at the chance. This FrightFest-produced show allows me to share my memories, fun facts and rarely reported information, but primarily to delight the NYX audience who will hopefully make 'FrightFest Saturday Night Scares with Alan Jones' an appointment destination”.

The channel also celebrates John Carpenter’s birthday on Tues 16 Jan with a screening of his underrated supernatural shocker THE WARD, starring Amber Heard, and ‘Hammer Sundays’ continues its popular run, highlighted by SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA, on Sunday 14 Jan, which marks the final pairing of Lee and Cushing as Count Dracula and Van Helsing in the Hammer Dracula series.

Other juicy January delights include Norwegian found-footage thriller TROLL HUNTER, Jess Franco’s provocative erotic horror FEMALE VAMPIRE, THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETARY, helmed by the 'Godfather of Gore,' Lucio Fulci, and THE HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK, directed by Ruggero Deodato, who is well-known for his controversial film "Cannibal Holocaust".

First ever MICKEY MOUSE HORROR FILM to be released!!!

On the day Disney's Mickey Mouse hits public domain, Director Jamie Bailey releases the trailer and poster to his horror comedy thriller MICKEY'S MOUSE TRAP.  

Synopsis:
It's Alex's 21st Birthday, but she's stuck at the amusement arcade on a late shift so her friends decide to surprise her. But a masked killer dressed as Mickey Mouse decides to play a game of his own with them, which she must survive.

The film's Director Jamie Bailey states "We just wanted to have fun with it all. I mean it's Steamboat Willie's Mickey Mouse murdering people. It's ridiculous. We ran with it and had fun doing it and I think it shows" 

The film stars Sophie McIntosh, Callum Sywyk, Allegra Nocita, Ben Harris, Damir Kovic, Mackenzie Mills, Nick Biskupek and Simon Phillips. Music scored by Darren Morze. It was produced by Paul Whitney, Mark Popejoy, Alexander Gausman and Andrew Agopsowicz and the Co Producer is Filmcore's Mem Ferda.

The film itself is still awaiting a confirmed release date - but is expected in March 2024.

THE JESTER - Coming to Disc and Digital

From the co-creator of The Blair Witch Project, horror has a new face in THE JESTER, coming to UK Disc and Digital this month from Dazzler Media.

After the recent death of their father, two estranged sisters find themselves being stalked by a malevolent being known as The Jester. 

Revealing himself to be more than just a man in a mask, the evil entity begins to further torment the residents of their small town on Halloween night. 

The path to defeating this unholy monster lies with the two sisters who realise that the only way to survive is to figure out how to right the wrongs of their dark past. 

Helmed by new writer-director Colin Krawchuk and produced by Blair Witch Project co-creator Eduardo Sánchez, THE JESTER is a must-see tale of terror for fright fans.

In February Arrow Video releases formidable standard editions of the three outstanding PSYCHO sequels in UHD, a stand alone release of Clive Barker’s legendary HELLRAISER, and the HELLRAISER Tetralogy in 4K.

Twenty three years after Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho shattered expectations and shocked audiences around the world, Australian filmmaker Richard Franklin (Patrick, Road Games) boldly followed in the master’s footsteps and directed Psycho II, a sequel that not only delivered on the promise of his earlier films, but arguably lived up to the original.

 

Psycho III would see Anthony Perkins himself take the franchise’s reins for his directorial debut, bringing a stylish flair that suggested his time working with not only Alfred Hitchcock, but Orson Welles and Ken Russell had been well spent.
