Frankie is a young single mother with dyschronometria, a rare condition that means she struggles to perceive time.
Using cassette tapes for guidance, she takes a risky job from a mysterious woman to support her family, unaware of the dark consequences that await.
GAZER is a tense mystery thriller, shot gorgeously on 16mm and recalling the paranoid themes, stylish visuals, affecting score and leftfield horror notes of canonical works from the likes of Pakula, Hitchcock, De Palma, Cronenberg, Lynch, Schrader and Polanski.
The debut feature of director Ryan J. Sloan and starring Ariella Mastroianni, who wrote the film together, Gazer had its world premiere at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, followed by screenings at Glasgow and Dublin Film Festivals.
