Escaped convicts find themselves in a situation beyond their worst nightmares in Bad Voodoo.

The ritual begins when the supernatural horror film curses VOD and DVD on February 10 via DeskPop Entertainment.

Two escaped convicts break into a house and take a hostage, only to discover that the hideout houses something far more dangerous: a voodoo curse born from a grieving couple’s thirst for vengeance. As the night spirals into terror, they must battle an unseen power that feeds on guilt, blood, and lost souls.

Manny Perez (Pride and Glory) and John Fiore (The Sopranos) lead the cast, which also includes Christina Moody, Justin Genna, Alex Joseph Pires, and Jimmy C. Jules.

Andrew Adler and Andre Hepburn make their feature directorial debut on the project, which they also produced alongside Marie Brandt. Devin Fearn penned the script, based on a story by Hepburn.

"BAD VOODOO was my way of confronting grief," Hepburn explains. "Grief can haunt us as powerfully as any monster. The film lives in the space where folklore, faith, and terror collide."

"With BAD VOODOO, we wanted to use supernatural horror as a lens to tell a deeply human story about moral boundaries," Adler adds. "At its heart, the film examines how loss can distort our sense of justice and lead us into choices we never imagined we were capable of."

BAD VOODOO embraces the old Haitian saying: it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in voodoo, because it believes in you.

Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror LENSKEEPER - Trailer and Poster released

The trailer for LENSKEEPER, the new Italian horror feature from director Luca Canale B., has been officially unveiled ahead of the film’s upcoming presentation at the European Film Market in Berlin. International sales at EFM will be handled by EuroObscura, a leading label specializing in bold and unconventional genre cinema.

A brutal and hallucinatory descent into cosmic terror, LENSKEEPER draws inspiration from the transgressive legacy of Lucio Fulci and the dark, flesh-altering visions of Clive Barker, fusing graphic practical effects with metaphysical horror and Lovecraftian dread.

In LENSKEEPER, a withdrawn oculist uncovers a blasphemous truth: the human eye is not merely an organ of sight, but a threshold to an ancient, inhuman presence. Drawn into the orbit of a clandestine satanic cult, his radical experiments spiral into acts of ritualistic mutilation.

As vision is weaponized and perception collapses, reality itself fractures—unleashing horrors that should never be seen.

Blurring the boundaries between science, ritual, and blasphemy, Italian director Luca Canale B. explores sight not as perception, but as violation. In the words of the director: “LENSKEEPER is conceived as a sensory assault rather than a conventional narrative. Vision becomes a threshold, a gateway to the unknown.”

Produced by Italian company Sancapross, the film previously screened at Fantafestival in Rome, marking its debut on the international genre circuit and establishing it as a striking new entry in contemporary Italian horror. With its trailer now unveiled, its market premiere at EFM Berlin, and EuroObscura steering international sales, LENSKEEPER positions itself as a fearless and confrontational work for genre fans seeking horror that dares to stare back.

FrightFest Glasgow - Exclusive interview with Craig Conway, dir. of RED RIDING

Ahead of the World premiere of RED RIDING, a horror-thriller that reimagines the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairytale, screening at FrightFest Glasgow 2026, director Craig Conway reflects on dark explorations, industry challenges, and championing the Northeast.

Q) RED RIDING is a morally complex, unsettling reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood. What drew you to the project?

I wasn’t interested in retelling a fairy tale, I was interested in what the story doesn’t say. Red Riding is about survival, power, and the moment innocence fractures. The brilliant Peter Stylianou with whom I worked with on "Drained" had written and created an exciting script and concept which after working together with producer Daniel Patrick Vaughn back and forth seemed to take it somewhere truly special, dark but special. The fairy tale framework gave us permission to explore the themes without softening them.

I’m always drawn to stories that sit in the grey, where there are no clean heroes or villains. This film isn’t about punishment or morality; it’s about what people become when they’re forced to endure and Horror lets you tell emotional truths without asking for permission.

Q) This is your feature directorial debut. What stands out looking back?

Directing a feature taught me that leadership is emotional, not technical. The job isn’t just about framing shots, of course that's also integral to it but it’s about creating an environment where people feel safe enough to take risks.

Coming from acting, I was very aware of how exposed performers can feel. I carried that responsibility seriously. If Red Riding works, it’s because everyone involved trusted each other to go to uncomfortable places together and cast and crew alike were more than willing on this project.

Q) Was there a scene that was particularly challenging or meaningful to bring to life?

The quiet moments were the hardest. Without giving too much away, there are scenes where nothing “happens” on paper, but everything is happening underneath. Those moments live or die on restraint.

In horror, there’s a temptation to push, to escalate, explain or underline. I wanted to do the opposite. The most unsettling things are often what you’re left alone with.

Q) How important was location and atmosphere in shaping the film’s tone?

Atmosphere wasn’t decoration it was the foundation. The landscape needed to feel indifferent, isolating and slightly hostile.

The Northeast for the first section of the film gave us that truth for free. Filming Reds original home in the area I grew up in was also a way for me to connect personally on the journey I was actually looking to capture.

When we moved to Scotland near Nairn on the estate for the main block it added even more honesty to the story, so it doesn’t flatter you and it doesn’t apologise that suited the film perfectly and actually became another character in and of itself.

Q) Victoria Tait gives a striking debut performance as Redelle. How did you discover her?

Victoria has an extraordinary stillness. She doesn’t signal emotion, she allows it. That’s incredibly rare, especially in a debut lead. From the many incredibly talented actresses we saw, Victoria connected in a way I've not seen before.

She was fearless in her approach. She didn’t try to make the character likeable or palatable. She trusted the material and committed fully and that integrity is what makes the performance resonate. She's a true talent that's for sure.

Q) FrightFest audiences know you as an actor from films like Dog Soldiers and The Descent. Do you still plan to act, and is horror still important to you?

Acting will always be part of me but directing feels like a natural evolution as it has for producing features. It allows me to shape stories from the inside out rather than from a single point of view.

As for horror, I don’t think of it as a genre so much as a language. It’s a way of talking about fear, power and identity without pretending things are neat or safe.

Q) You’ve worked closely with Neil Marshall over the years. How did he come on board as a producer?

Neil Marshall has been a huge part of my career, and my life to be honest, so his involvement came from trust rather than strategy. He understood the film immediately and backed it without trying to reshape it. For a first-time feature director, having that kind of support without interference is invaluable.

Q) You’ve founded CM3 to support filmmaking in the Northeast. What are your ambitions for it?

CM3 (Creative Motion) exists because talent shouldn’t have to leave home to be taken seriously. We’re focused on building a sustainable ecosystem supporting emerging voices and creating  pathways for creatives and students.

It’s about infrastructure as much as storytelling. Red Riding is proof that ambitious, challenging films can be made outside traditional centres if the support system is there and it's imperative we support the independent sector not just with horror but across all genres if we are to keep finding new talent.

Q) How has your relationship with the industry changed over time?

Early in my career, I waited for permission. Now I’m beginning to build the work I want to see.

The hardest lesson was realising that longevity doesn’t guarantee agency. You earn that by being clear about who you are and what you’re willing to fight for. Once I stopped trying to fit into the industry’s expectations, my relationship with it has become far healthier.

Q) Finally, what’s next?

More directing, producing, acting and more building. I’m developing further projects that continue to explore human stories through genre, while expanding the production infrastructure in the Northeast. For me, the goal now is sustainability, creative, personal, and regional. My aim isn’t just to make films, it’s to make a future where films can keep being made.

RED RIDING is showing at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Sat 7 March, 5.30pm, as part of FrightFest Glasgow 2026.  Craig will be attending.

Psychological Horror HIS MONSTER - Headed to the European Film Market

HIS MONSTER, the haunting new feature from director Erich Cannon, will make its market premiere at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, introducing international buyers and press to a chilling, character-driven genre film that blends psychological horror with raw emotional realism. Coinciding with the market premiere, the film’s first international trailer has just been released, offering audiences an unsettling glimpse into its dark and emotionally charged world.

HIS MONSTER already started a successful festival run by winning the Best Feature Award at the Old Towne Film Festival, and screening at FantaFestival in Rome and Cine De Terror in Chile. Produced by Compassionate Disaster Films, HIS MONSTER stars Gabe Casdorph (Killers of the Flower Moon, Yellowstone) in a devastating lead performance as James Streeter, a broken man battling alcoholism, grief, and an unspeakable terror that no one else is willing to see.

James Streeter loses everything—his family, his stability, and his place in the world—when his young daughter is mysteriously swept out to sea. Convinced she was taken by something inhuman, a monster from Japanese folklore, James isolates himself, wandering the surrounding woods in a desperate search for answers, finding solace only at the bottom of an empty bottle. As unexplained deaths begin to plague the community, James becomes the sole voice insisting that a monster is responsible. Whether he is an alcoholic madman, or a real monster really haunts the woods, becomes the terrifying question at the heart of the film.

With HIS MONSTER, Cannon delivers a stark and unsettling exploration of addiction, guilt, and belief, using horror not as spectacle but as an extension of its protagonist’s fractured inner world. In the words of the director: “HIS MONSTER explores the idea that the true horror is the grips of addiction and grief. I wanted to highlight the horror of addiction, numbing pain with substance and abuse in a fantastical way, and show how these addictions can bring harm to those closest to us.”

Premiering at the European Film Market and accompanied by the release of its first international
trailer, HIS MONSTER now launches onto the international stage, with EuroObscura opening sales talks with global partners in Berlin.

Hammer Shocker DEMONS OF THE MIND - Worldwide UHD Premiere

What madness lies like a curse on this family? Find out as DEMONS OF THE MIND makes its worldwide 4K UHD debut on the 6th April, with a brand new 4K Dolby Vision restoration. The Collector’s Edition includes both UHD and Blu-ray discs, new artwork by Johnny Dombrowski, two posters, and a 64 page booklet featuring new essays, the original press kit, and a host of fascinating extras.

One of Hammer’s most ambitious and under-appreciated films, DEMONS OF THE MIND, directed by Peter Sykes (To The Devil A Daughter), and scripted by Christopher Wickling (who wrote BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY'S TOMB, STUDIOCANAL’s other Hammer release in April), should finally find its place as a top rank British Gothic folk horror with this stunning new release - rather than be shelved and then relegated to the second half of a double bill as it was when it was first released in the 1970s.

The cast is stacked with stalwart British talent including Robert Hardy (BAFTA-nominated for All Creatures Great & Small), Shane Briant (Straight On Till Morning), Yvonne Mitchell (BAFTA-winner for The Divided Heart), Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones, Michael Hordern (Barry Lyndon) and A Clockwork Orange stars Gillian Hills and Patrick Magee.

Regarded by some as Hammer’s best film, DEMONS OF THE MIND is a bold and brilliant exploration of the tortured psyche, presented here in ravishing 4K, with new extras, as well as a commentary with director Sykes and screenwriter Wicking, and much more.

SYNOPSIS: Baron Zorn (Robert Hardy) is convinced that his son Emil (Shane Briant) and daughter Elizabeth (Gillian Hills) are suffering from a hereditary madness. In an attempt to contain their insanity, he keeps them imprisoned and drugged, yet these measures are not enough to stop his children from expressing their decadent desires and violent natures. Desperate for a cure, Zorn employs the discredited Dr. Falkenberg (Patrick Magee) to investigate his family’s plight…

DEMONS OF THE MIND Collector’s Edition, including the film on 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs, is released on 6th April and available to pre-order HERE. The film will also be available on Digital.
