IBIZA UNDEAD - UK DVD review

A weekend of general debauchery goes horribly wrong for a group of lads holidaying in Ibiza when the island is over run with flesh eating zombies in director Andy Edwards IBIZA UNDEAD, which is out now on UK DVD.

Set against the backdrop of a virus outbreak, which causes those infected to turn into zombies, a group of lads decide to go for a holiday in Ibiza, which is one of the few places the zombie virus hasn’t affected (yet).

However, it seems that one enterprising night club owner (played by Peep Show’s Matt King) has found a way to circumvent quarantine control and is pulling in the punters to with his zombie pole dancers and zombie dismemberment live shows.

But thanks to the drunken antics of one of the group, the zombies get loose and proceed to start eating the customers. To make matters worse, many of the unwanted undead the club owner has dumped off his yacht happen to make it to shore and start rampaging across the island.

The lads subsequently find themselves barricaded in their holiday home facing a Night of the Living Dead style siege, unless they can find a way to make it off the island alive.

Extras on the disc consist of

Ibiza Undead Uncovered (10:20) – Behind the scenes feature, including interviews with the cast and crew.

FrightFest 2016 Premiere (3:30) – A couple of TV Interviews with Director Andy Edwards and actress Marcio De Valles, who plays Maria, filmed at it’s FrightFest 2016 screening.

House Party of the Dead 6 (18:00) – One of Director Andy Edwards previous short films about a group of youths trapped inside their house during a zombie apocalypse.

Filled with crass humour and buckets of blood, with a title like “Ibiza Undead” you pretty much know what you’re going to get and the film certainly delivers. If you’re into “The Inbetweeners” or if you like horror comedies like “Shaun of the Dead” you’ll love it.

IBIZA UNDEAD is out now on UK DVD from Soda Pictures.
