"LOVE CAMP 7" comes to US BD and DVD

US cult movie distributer Blue Underground have announced they will be releasing former "video nasty" title LOVE CAMP 7 to Blu-Ray and DVD in the US next year.

The release will be a 4k scan taken from the recently discovered original camera negatives.

Directed by Lee Frost, this 1969 nazi-spoitation title concerns the exploits of two US female army agents, who go undercover at a Nazi prison camp to get information from a scientist held there. Only for their escape attempt to go awry and end up getting subjected to the same unleasantries as the other inmates.

Considered controversial in its day, the film gained notoriety in the UK after being banned as a video nasty in the early 80s. The film was also rejected by the BBFC for a DVD release in 2002.

Up until now, the only way to see this has been a DVDr release, only available through the Something Wierd Video website, or on a long out of print grey market DVD which was released in Holland. Making this an eagerly anticipated release for collectors of former video nasty titles.

SHARKNADO : THE 4TH AWAKENS on UK DVD 5th Sept

Pop culture phenomenon Sharknado is the franchise that keeps on giving and the fourth instalment doesn’t disappoint. It goes bigger, bolder and even more brazen than its predecessors, with more sharks, more 'nados, more chainsaws and more Hoff than ever before! So grab some beer and pizza and get ready to witness as The 4th Awakens...

After a blissful few years sharknado free, Fin (Ian Ziering, the Sharknado series, 90210) and April (Tara Reid, the Sharknado series, American Pie) have to face their bloodiest sharknado attack yet!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... unless what’s happening is a giant whirlwind of sharks and nados! When the sharknados are whipped up in ways least expected, it seems there’s no escaping the razor-toothed monsters!

As the beasts strike, Fin is thrown back into action, and compelled to take up the chainsaw once more in a cross-country race to save his family and the world! With the return of David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff, and tantalising new additions, prepare yourself for the skin-tearing, blood-spurting, biting-bonanza... Sharknado: The 4th Awakens!

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens treats nothing as sacred and everything from Star Wars and Terminator 2 to The Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind are ripe for a lovingly jokey reference or two.

So whether you’re a Sharknado super-fan, or your nado cherry is still to be popped, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens is probably the most fun you can have on your sofa while eating popcorn.

SLASHERMANIA - Kickstarter Campaign

Freaktown comics have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their latest works SLASHERMANIA. An original graphic novel in the tradition of films such as Scream, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, The Final Girls and Cabin in the Woods

1983. Troubled teens from New York and Los Angeles are taken to a summer camp facility to be trained as counsellors and mix safely with other people their own age.

Little do they know they are being watched by an audience hungry for sex & violence.

They are the designated victims for a bizarre contest of murder and mayhem – with masked maniacs from across the USA, Canada, Italy & the UK competing in various categories:

Best Male Solo Death, Best Female Solo Death, Coitus Interruptus, Sin Punishment, Most Creative Kill, Biggest Multiple Death, and the coveted Slasher of the Year award!

Functioning both as a tribute to, and an examination of, the eighties slasher movie phenomenon, it’s mostly played straight but with an undercurrent of post-modern self-awareness and some appropriately inappropriate laughs along the way - carefully designed not to undercut the scares.

Inks by Ron Joseph, Jake Isenberg and CJ Camba. Colours by Harry Saxon. Letters by Sergio Calvet. It should appeal to readers of titles such as Tim Seeley’s Hack/Slash, Williamson/Henderson’s Nailbiter and Alex de Campi’s Grindhouse miniseries.

World Premiere of "Hostage to the Devil" at London FrightFest

Causeway Pictures, Underground Films, and Content Media are pleased to announce the world premiere of “Hostage to the Devil” at London FrightFest Film Festival 2016 on Friday 26th August, 4.00pm, Discover Screen 3.

Over five years in production, director Martin Stalker has made a film which examines age-old questions about the existence of the Devil and the debate over good versus evil, all through the life of a controversial Irish-born Jesuit priest, Fr Malachi Martin.

Using first person-interviews with paranormal royalty such as Lorraine Warren, Ralph Sarchie, and John Zaffis, along with dramatic reconstructions, archival evidence, and words straight from Martin, this spine-chilling documentary takes the audience on a journey through an extraordinary life marked by battles against the Vatican, scandal, contention, and most of all, a deep and all-encompassing belief in the theory and practice of exorcism.

The film explains in graphic detail the process and outcomes of such an ordeal, including the horrifying case study of a four-year-old girl whom Fr Martin assessed as requiring an exorcism. Thus was to be the last case he was involved in before he died under mysterious circumstances.

A child possessed. An exorcist locked in combat with an ancient evil. Using first- hand interviews, dramatic reconstruction, archival evidence and a dead man’s words, this documentary film tells the true story of Father Malachi Martin, and asks, in the battle for saving a soul, who really is ‘Hostage to the Devil’?

Director Martin Stalker says: “I initially had feelings of disbelief that nothing had been made about this incredible and mysterious man (Malachi Martin) before. This was what influenced my decision to get involved and to tell his story. I feel the film industry has been saturated with misconceptions on exorcism and diabolical possession. So, it was important that this documentary addressed the realism of this subject matter through the knowledge of one man, through the personal experiences of others, and through using science and the Catholic Church as critical and theological anchors in the film.”

“Hostage to the Devil” is a CAUSEWAY PICTURES film in association with UNDERGROUND FILMS, BORD SCANNÁN NA HÉIREANN / THE IRISH FILM BOARD and NORTHERN IRELAND SCREEN. It is set for general release in the UK through Content Media in October 2016.
