A "New Media" news coverage team that is stranded near a beleaguered brothel in the middle of nowhere encounter a group or women with a terrifying secret.

We spoke to the Manso Mojo Brothas about the movie.

What does – the title - Lilin’s Brood refer to?

According to legend (set forth by the rules in our world), Lilith was Adam's first wife who later became a succubus.   She left Adam and refused to return to the Garden of Eden afterwards she mated with the messenger named Samuel.   The children produced from this union were all female creatures that tend to take form of beautiful young women, but closer inspection may reveal deformities upon their bodies, such as bird-like claws or serpentine tails, etc.

These succubae, the children of Lilith are called LILIN.   In later folklore, these women were sometimes captured and sold into prostitution.  These stories were told to keep wayward married men from visiting brothels and such.   Legend also has it that succubae only mate with human males that has been identified with a certain kind of mark and once marked there is no escaping.  The history becomes a bit sketchy after that, but we do know only succubae are produced from this union. Brood simply means ‘a family of offspring or young.’

Was it always intended to be a found footage picture?

We always intended for the movie to be shot from a character’s POV but adding the additional notion of found footage enhanced the movie even more because we could tell the story through multiple POV’s instead of just one.

Did you do any research into brothels or themes touched in your movie upon shooting?

We didn’t physically attend any brothels but we did do as much research as we could into brothels as far as aesthetics and feel. We were out to create a authentic feel for those who would see our film. One thing that really helped us get an inside look at brothels and really achieve the authentic look and feel of brothels we wanted was this book called “Nevada Rose” by Marc Andrews. The photography-book had really in depth and intimate photos of how the inside of brothels in Nevada looked, which really helped dictate our artistic direction and style.

How gory is the film? Is it an out-and-out horror movie?

It’s not a super gory movie, we didn’t want to make things super gushy to the point that it looks comical. We do have a bunch of blood in the film, but we definitely tried to bump up the creepy factor while giving you some good action, chaos and realistically tamed gore.

What did you use for blood on the film?

The make-up artists we worked with on the film kept that information proprietary, so I don’t officially know but I do know it looked good.

Is there any CGI in the film or is it all practical fx?

We did practical effects for everything. There is some VFX in the film but all the VFX that is in the film is added only to enhance our practical effects.

Look out for LILIN’S BROOD at US VOD outlets February.
