"A Sweet and Vicious Beauty" - Now streaming on Amazon

Beheadings, beheadings, beheadings! As many beheadings as you'd want to see in a movie! Amazon Prime is now streaming Gothic horror film "A Sweet and Vicious Beauty"! If you have a Prime account that means it's free!

Legend says that when someone dies, their last breath stays in their throat. Narcissa Sentinel is a sick woman who lives in a rotting mansion in the middle of desolate woods. She has her servants dig up the corpses from the nearby graveyard and bring her the heads, and she inhales the last breath from the mouths of the rotten skulls. She finds herself getting well, and soon realizes that in order to fully cure herself, she needs to move to fresher victims.

A Sweet and Vicious Beauty is a low budget wonder, using stylized sets and rear projections like in 1930s Universal horror films, historic Baltimore mansions for sets, dozens of handmade outfits, and hundreds of trained crows! Plus did someone mention BEHEADINGS???

Starring as Narcissa Sentinel is Bette Cassatt from V/H/S/2, Model Hunger and Tales of Poe, and she also created her makeup design and made all of her own costumes, as well as many more. Sara Cole from Don Dohler's Dead Hunt stars as Ingrid, and Brenden McDougal stars as Ethan.

Eric Thornett wrote and directed the film, and is least known for his movie Shockheaded which was distributed in Blockbuster Video, and is secondly known for falling down the stairs...sometimes on purpose, sometimes by accident, and sometimes by accident and then he claims to have done it on purpose.

"Sweet and Vicious Beauty" is available to stream now on Amazon prime!

HALLOWEEN coming to UK Digital and Disc February...

The infamous killer Michael Myers strikes again in HALLOWEEN, arriving on Digital on February 11, 2019, as well as on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on February 25, 2019.

Hailed by critics as “chilling and inventive” (Den of Geek), Halloween takes place four decades after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) narrowly escaped the masked Michael Myers’ brutal killing spree. Packed with bonus features including chilling deleted and extended scenes as well as special featurettes showing behind-the-scenes looks at creating the film, Halloween delivers spine-chilling, hair-raising intensity and thrills to both new and repeat viewers.

Forty years after the events of 1978’s Halloween, Laurie Strode (Curtis) now lives in a heavily guarded home on the edge of Haddonfield, where she’s spent decades preparing for Michael’s potential return. After being locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when a bus transfer goes terribly wrong, leading to chaos in the same town he preyed on decades earlier. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the deranged killer returns for her and her family – but this time, she’s ready for him.

Master of horror John Carpenter (Halloween (1978), The Thing) joins forces with director David Gordon Green (Joe, Pineapple Express) and producers Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Malek Akkad (Trancas International Films) and Bill Block (Miramax) for this follow up to Carpenter’s 1978 classic horror film.

Halloween also includes a stellar cast including Judy Greer (Ant-Man and The Wasp, Jurassic World), Andi Matichak (“Underground”), Will Patton (Armageddon, The Punisher), and Virginia Gardner (Project Almanac, “Runaways”). Proving “classics never die” (Mara Reinstein, US Weekly), Halloween offers a tricky treat for audiences both old and new. Halloween is the perfect slasher film, lauded as “hands down the best Halloween sequel ever” (Katie Walsh, Nerdist) and “immensely entertaining” (Eric Eisenberg, Cinemablend).

Emma Dark Releases Experimental Art Film PURGATORIC

Award-winning Filmmaker Emma Dark Releases Experimental Art Film PURGATORIC Starring Iconic Film Journalist and Artist Billy Chainsaw

PURGATORIC is an experimental art film from award-winning filmmaker Emma Dark (Salient Minus Ten, Seize the Night). Shot digitally it has been affected in post production to give it a Super 8mm look and feel. The film explores themes of death, sadness, uncertainty, and ultimately hope. PURGATORIC stars cult film and arts icon Billy Chainsaw (Strippers vs Werewolves, Cry Wolf), with music by London based band The Core (comprised of Pete McDonnell and Mick Corr).

Unlike Emma's festival short films "Salient Minus Ten" (2017) and "Seize the Night" (2015), PURGATORIC has been produced on minimal budget with a crew comprising of just Emma (responsible for screenplay, camera, editing, and direction), with Pete McDonnell and Mick Corr known collectively as "The Core" composing the film's haunting score, a behind the scenes photographer, and up-and-coming artist Joe K. Worrall providing the poster art.

Winner of the 2018 Starburst magazine’s Media City Film Festival 'Best Director Fantasy Award' and The Yellow Fever Independent Film Festival's 'Albert Pyun Inspiration Award' Director Emma Dark had this to say about PURGATORIC:

"Although my focus to date has been on larger scale projects I wanted to take some time in-between other ventures to experiment with a variety of concepts, themes and camera techniques. I've already released various other self shot creative pieces to the web but have generally kept these fairly low key to avoid detracting away from my festival short films (which take considerably more time, money and resources). However, I plan to create a range of creative and commercial pieces featuring named actors and public figures to show versatility and to carry that experience across to larger projects, with the end goal ultimately being a debut feature film.

"I'd had the basic idea for PURGATORIC floating around in my head for a couple of years, and when Billy and The Core both expressed interest in being part of a future project it seemed like the right time to explore this idea. Everyone involved has put their all into PURGATORIC, and I think that shows in the end result. I do hope audiences like the film."

PURGATORIC recently received its world premiere at former Kerrang! and Bizarre magazine contributor Chainsaw's NOVA NIGHTS film club in Bloomsbury, London, preceded by a live performance art piece (also featuring Chainsaw and directed by Emma Dark) to an intimate audience of well-known industry professionals and film fans.

CRUCIBLE OF THE VAMPIRE in UK cinemas 1st Feb 2019

Making its World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival and garnering rave reviews at other major festivals, Iain Ross- McNamee’s gothic chiller Crucible of the Vampire is set to arrive in UK cinemas on 1 February 2019, followed by its home entertainment release on 4 February 2019 in dual format DVD and Blu-ray and on digital platforms courtesy of Screenbound Entertainment.

Starring British acting favourite Neil Morrissey (Line of Duty, Men Behaving Badly), alongside rising stars Katie Goldfinch and Florence Cady, this brooding vampire tale gives a strong nod to classic British horror greats and the genre defining Hammer Horror films.

A young museum curator Isabelle (Katie Goldfinch) is sent to look at an ancient artefact, discovered in the basement of a stately home in Shropshire. Welcomed into the sprawling manor house by a seemingly hospitable family; Karl (Larry Rew), his wife Evelyn (Babette Barat) and their beautiful daughter Scarlet (Florence Cady), but all is not what it seems, as a dark and terrifying secret hangs over them.

When Isabelle discovers the truth within the mansion’s foreboding walls, can she escape the clutches of its malevolent occupants?

This immortal tale, which moves from the English Civil War to the present day, is smart, stylish, sexy and as sharp as vampire’s teeth.

Announcing The Slaughter Awards at November's DarkFest!!!

Horror is one of the most popular and enduring of genres, but too often it is one that gets little respect come awards time. That is about to change though, with the creation of The Slaughter Awards.

These unique awards honouring the achievements of those working within the horror genre are cast in the image of Tod Slaughter (Norman Carter Slaughter, 19 March 1885 - 19 February 1956), an English actor, best known for his barnstorming performances in macabre film adaptations of Victorian melodramas.

Slaughter remains Britain’s greatest unsung horror star and we are proud to be keeping his memory alive with these British Oscars for the horror world. The Slaughters depict Tod in his most famous role as Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. “You have a lovely throat for a razor, sir…” to be handed out annually at the DarkFest film festival in November.

These prestigious awards are presented by The Dark Side magazine in conjunction with We Belong Dead and the Slaughter Awards Committee, which is made up of respected individuals from within the horror fan community.

The first five specially selected ‘Lifetime Achievement’ awards will be presented at the 2018 all-day DarkFest which takes place on Saturday November 24th at the Genesis Cinema in London’s East End - just a stone’s throw away from where Jack the Ripper once plied his grisly trade. The Genesis is especially known for its quality pies, hopefully not made by Mrs Lovatt.

The first recipients have been specially chosen by the Slaughter Awards Committee and count among their number a legendary star of Hammer horror films and a writer whose books influenced countless genre fans in their youth.

Future ‘Slaughter’ awards will be chosen by members of the public in advance ballots. Categories will include Best Film, Best TV Show, Best Home Video Distributor, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best DVD Extras, Best Book and Best Author. There will also be further Lifetime Achievement Awards voted for by genre fans worldwide.

Zane Hershberger Announces Ferocious 80's Style Action/Thriller FORCE TO FEAR

Pennsylvanian (U.S.A.) based filmmaker Zane Hershberger is set to make his feature directorial debut with 80's style indie action thriller FORCE TO FEAR

FORCE TO FEAR is a retro style film that mashes the slasher movie idea with a violent, action/revenge/thriller. Taking place in an abandoned school close to Halloween, several different individuals, comprising of two kidnappers, a drug dealer, a group of college kids, and a killer (all with different sinister agendas) converge on the building. Once they cross paths, chaos ensues, and rest of the night becomes a bloody game of survival of the fittest.

Mr Hershberger had this to say about the film: “Growing up watching films like 'Savage Streets', 'Night School', and the 1987 Australian film 'Dangerous Game' inspired me to make my own action/thriller. My co-writer Chad Bruns (who is also set to star in FORCE TO FEAR) and I wanted a story that keeps the audience guessing the whole time and throws some curve balls in there as well. I think we’ve delivered what we think a midnight movie crowd would want with this story.”

Zane’s previous work includes being involved in various capacities on over five feature length films. Directorial work includes retro horror short film "Trespassers" (which is featured on anthology release "10/31"), and past cinematography work includes Justin M. Seaman’s festival favourite "The Barn".

FORCE TO FEAR is currently crowdfunding, to find out more about the film visit the Indiegogo Page.
