Shaun Hutson’s TESTAMENT Set to Chill Fans

British horror legend Shaun Hutson is back with Testament, a new novel featuring one of his fans most loved characters, Sean Doyle.

Published as a new hardback and eBook by Caffeine Nights Publishing, the novel is a direct sequel to the novel Renegades, picks the story up some thirty years later. Sean Doyle is now working as an advisor in Iraq when he is approached by British Intelligence regarding the resurrection of an old nemesis, David Callahan. A man Doyle knows he killed. A man who took the one-woman Doyle ever loved from him.

Older, possibly not wiser but teamed up with a younger operative, Doyle is sent to investigate the rumours surrounding the apparent sightings of Callahan, when supernatural forces rear, waking the dead...and among them, Doyle’s long-lost love. Baffled by how the dead are coming back to life, Doyle is faced with a choice of destroying ultimate evil and knows by doing so he risks losing her again for good.

“Doyle is always a fun character to write.” Hutson said. “The challenge was picking the story up after so long and seeing if he could still operate effectively. So much has changed in the world since his last outing. His new partner is way more technology led whereas Doyle is a blunter tool in a digital age. Often less considered and reactive, though still sharp and intuitive.”

The new novel features a stunning cover design from graphic artist, Ria Fend and is presented in hardback format for a limited time.

Post-Apocalyptic series 8 DAYS comes to UK DVD January.

What would you do if you only had 8 Days left to live? A meteorite is on a collision course with Earth. The chances to survive in Central Europe: Zero.

This colossally ambitious German series explores the answer to this impossible question through the eyes of an ordinary Berlin family living through the last days of mankind as we know it.

Each episode of this eight-parter brings us one day closer to annihilation. The impending catastrophe sets in motion the reorganisation of society as we know it, and the world rapidly sinks into a huge, panicky, chaotic party. Suddenly people can break the speed limit at will, have wild unprotected sex, do all the drugs they want, shop with no money, live without working, love with no consequences – but in the end, the only thing that matters is: What is really important to you in your final days and hours?

As riots break out in the streets, former physics teacher Uli Steiner puts his trust in smugglers to help his family on a life-threatening escape to Russia, but his wife Susanne worries about the safety of their children, Leonie and Jonas. Her brother, emerging politician Hermann, has his pregnant wife to look after, while their bitter father Egon uses these last days to try and make up for old mistakes.

How far would a person go to protect the ones they love? Leonie’s best friend Nora is trapped in a bunker by the violent, paranoid Klaus, but could former convict Robin be a saviour? Not just for her, but for the new religious sect that see him as a Messiah. Or are the real saviours those in law enforcement still trying to do their job, like dedicated policemen Deniz? With the end of the world nigh, secrets bubble to the surface in the melting pot of Berlin.

Prepare for the end of life as you know it in… 8 Days.

Now showing on Sky Atlantic tonight, the series arrives on DVD and Digital 6 January from Acorn Media International.

Fulton risks everything as he tries to save her life.

“Invasion Nano Sapiens” is based on real nano robotic experiments going on now around the world and is the embryonic journey of what could come in medicine to kill cancer and other diseases – unless something goes horribly wrong… It depicts a new threat to human existence not seen anywhere else – and could happen.

Bacurau, a small settlement in Brazil’s remote backcountry, is shaken by the death of its elderly matriarch. But something strange is happening in the village, and there’s little time for mourning. Arrow Video’s January releases will deliver a much needed shiver of delight to film fans experiencing a post-festivities comedown. The releases are, as usual, packed with extras, including limited edition booklets with new writing on the films, newly-commissioned sleeve artwork, fascinating commentaries, and behind the scenes documentaries.

EDGE OF THE AXE - Limited Edition Slipcase Blu-ray released on 27 January

The rural community of Paddock County is being rocked by the crazed exploits of an axe-wielding psychopath, who stalks the night in a black trenchcoat and mask. As the victims pile up, the authorities attempt to keep a lid on the situation, whilst computer whizz-kid Gerald and girlfriend Lillian seek to unmask the killer before the town population reaches zero.

Nominally set in Northern California but shot primarily in Madrid, giving the film an off-kilter, American/European atmosphere akin to the likes of Pieces, Edge of the Axe is a late entry hack-and-slash masterpiece from one of the titans of Spanish terror.

HARPOON – On Blu-ray 27 January

They say every story about love, friendship and betrayal extols a key lesson in virtue and morality. This is not one of those stories.

Jonah (Munro Chambers, Turbo Kid), Richard (Christopher Gray, TV’s The Mist) and Sasha (Emily Tyra, Code Black) have been friends a long time… maybe too long. Following a ferocious bust-up, Richard tries to make amends in the form of a sailing trip on his family yacht.

After all, a friendship is the kind of ship that never sinks – until the yacht breaks down and the trio are left stranded in the middle of the ocean. As food and water supplies start to sink and rivalries, dark secrets and sexual tension start to surface, the question becomes: which of these three broken humans will run out of air first?

Dubbed a “twisty little thriller” (Eye For Film) that “will appeal to horror lovers everywhere” (Love Horror), Harpoon is Edgar Allan Poe by way of Seinfeld and an exercise in brilliant pacing, direction and acting. As the story takes darkly comedic and always unexpected turns, the three leads crescendo into a culmination of their respective crises of conscience – except the crisis here is that they have no conscience. Welcome aboard!

Filmed in black and white, "HERE COMES HELL" follows the plight of a group of 1930s socialites attending a dinner party in a dilapidated mansion. Bloody mayhem ensues when their host coerces them into performing a séance, accidentally opening the gates of hell.
