"The World's End", the new horror comedy from the people who gave us "Shaun of the Dead" is out at UK cinemas TODAY (Friday) and I managed to catch a special Midnight screening on Thursday night.
The film revolves around a 30 something delinquent, Gary King (Simon Pegg), who never really moved on with his life since leaving school. He returns to his home town with some of his former school friends to do a legendary pub crawl, called "The Golden Mile", which involves drinking a round in each of the towns 12 pubs in one evening, something they tried, but failed, to do once before
during their misspent youth.
But it isn't too long before they realise their
old home town isn't quite what it seems and fairly soon, the group find themselves running for their lives. But despite all this, Gary is still determined to finish the Golden Mile pub crawl and reach the Worlds End pub, even if it kills them (which it probably will).
Don't want to give too much of the plot away, but think "Shaun of the Dead" crossed with "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Overall I really enjoyed this one and found it to be great fun. There's a
few gags they've carried over from their previous films and a few familiar faces making an appearance, so if you liked "Shaun.." or "Hot Fuzz", you should love this.
Anyway, here's the trailer...
