The Thing Begins on UK DVD & BR

The good folks at Universal Pictures UK were kind enough to send me a review copy of their upcoming release of “The Thing” prequel, which comes to disc March 26th.

Taking place prior to the events of John Carpenter’s classic 1982 film, this story follows the exploits of what went on at the Norwegian camp mentioned in that film, as we learn how they stumbled across the alien space craft buried deep under the ice. And the subsequent events that lead up to the alien running amok, before finally being chased into the American camp at the start of that film.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Kate Lloyd, an American scientist who flies in to assist the Norwegians help study the creature, only to end up leading the team in a bloody battle against it and a frantic hunt to discover which of them may no longer be human (you can read a full review of the film HERE).

The film is being released onto DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. The DVD and Blu-rays come with the following special features..

Deleted and Extended scenes.
The thing evolves – making of featurette
Fire & Ice – special effects featurette
