Nucleus Films releasing two Giallo films this Spring

NOTHING UNDERNEATH

Mixing the visual style and shocking violence of the classic Italian Giallo with the slick sensuality of 1980s erotic thrillers, Carlo Vanzina's controversial box office hit NOTHING UNDERNEATH dives into the dark underbelly of Milan's fashion world as American forest ranger Bob Crane – inspired by a psychic vision - heads to Italy in search of his twin sister, a top model who has mysteriously vanished. 

He soon finds himself drawn into a sophisticated and sinister world of sex, murder, drugs and intrigue where no one is what they seem and a scissor-wielding assassin stalks the catwalk.

This classic late-period Italian thriller stars Donald Pleasence (Phantom of Death, Phenomena), real-life supermodel Renée Simonsen and American TV regular Tom Schanley alongside a host of top models and fashion industry cameos. A classic score by Pino Donaggio adds the finishing touch to a film that oozes Eighties excess and high fashion.

Newly restored in 4K from the original negatives, NOTHING UNDERNEATH is one of the great unsung films of the late giallo era, and comes fully loaded with extras.

After one of their number is raped at a party and then mysteriously murdered some time later, a group of supermodels who moonlight as high-class hookers find that a brutal killer is taking revenge on everyone involved in the original assault, just as a mysterious new arrival joins their group for an extravagant music video-style fashion shoot. Who is she and what is her connection to the series of violent deaths taking place around her?

Mixing the classic traditions of Italian giallo cinema with the ultra-modernist aesthetics of Eighties MTV, this 1988 thematic follow-up to erotic thriller Nothing Underneath from director Dario Piana is a visually dazzling and wildly extravagant study in style and slaughter that has a cast of beautiful women headed by cult movie icon Florence Guérin (Faceless, The Black Cat) and is soundtracked by a collection of 1980s pop hits from the likes of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Huey Lewis and the News.

OFFSEASON to Premiere Exclusively on Shudder - June

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, announced that OFFSEASON will be available exclusively to stream on the platform starting on Friday, June 10, 2022. 

As a Shudder exclusive, the platform will be the only subscription service that will carry the film in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Written and directed by Mickey Keating (Psychopaths), OFFSEASON stars Jocelin Donahue (Doctor Sleep), Joe Swanberg (The Rental, “Easy”), Richard Brake (3 From Hell, Mandy), Melora Walters (The Pale Door, “Pen15”) and Jeremy Gardner (After Midnight, The Mind’s Eye).

Upon receiving a mysterious letter that her mother’s grave site has been vandalized, in OFFSEASON, Marie (Donahue) quickly returns to the isolated offshore island where her late mother is buried. Kiyotaka Tsurisaki Shockumentary Coffin Box Collection: THE TRILOGY OF DEATH - coming from TetroVideo

The Kiyotaka Tsurisaki's "THE TRILOGY OF DEATH" is getting a new TetroVideo box set treatment. It has been announced that, on may 2nd, the company will be releasing two Coffin box sets (500 copies only) of the "Kiyotaka Tsurisaki Shockumentary Collection" that includes OROZCO – THE EMBALMER (2001), JUNK FILMS (2007) and THE WASTELAND (2014).

The Standard Edition has a numbered Coffin Box + Blu-ray + DVD + 3 Cards, while the Ultralimited Edition has a serialized Coffin Box + Blu-ray + DVD + 3 special paper Collector's Cards + 1 aluminium commemorative plate. This edition is limited to pre-order only on may 2nd

Written and directed by Kiyotaka Tsurisaki, who has become known for photographing dead bodies, OROZCO – THE EMBALMER is a shockumentary about the Colombian embalmer Froilan Orozco Duarte, about his grim work in one of the poorest and most dangerous parts in Colombia: Bogotà.

JUNK FILMS is a collection of short documentaries pondering about the meaning of life and death by the use of shocking images. In Junk Films, Kiyotaka Tsurisaki focuses on the subject of war to offer a startling look at the aftermath of combat and on death’s many forms (disasters, starvation, tragic accidents) to highlight the fragility of human life.

THE WASTELAND is a look into the world around us, into the aftermath of war, religion and other evil facets that aid in the destruction of Earth. To set the mood for The Wasteland, Kiyotaka Tsurisaki teamed up with the japanese doom metal band Corrupted.

Arrow Streaming to premiere unique chiller "THE RIGHTEOUS"

On June 10th 2022, the essential, alternative streaming service ARROW premieres the extraordinary THE RIGHTEOUS, written and directed by Mark O’Brien.

Synopsis
