DOGGED comes to UK DVD and Digital 9 July from Left Films

Dogged is the debut feature film from director Richard Rowntree, a disturbing folk horror film which taps into our primal fear of what lurks in the woods.

When ten-year-old Megan Lancaster meets a grizzly and untimely end, Sam is forced to return to the remote tidal island where he grew up to attend the funeral. A testing relationship with his disconnected parents, a reunion with his estranged girlfriend Rachel, and a cryptic message from the island’s doctor force Sam to investigate the events leading up to Megan’s tragic death.

The truth is far more shocking and unbelievable than Sam wants to acknowledge, and his life begins to spiral out of control in a macabre descent of paranoia. Sam must race against tide and time to expose the seedy underbelly of the island, and to save the lives of those he loves.

Written and directed by Richard Rowntree (Art Department on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, A Monster Calls, Ex Machina). Stars: Sam Saunders, Toby Wynne-Davies, Debra Leigh-Taylor, Philip Ridout and Tony Manders.

Shane Black's PREDATOR, new trailer hits the web

Oooh, another new trailer. This one for the forthcoming "Predator" film. Looks good...

Trailer for the new HALLOWEEN film released.

Universal pictures have just released the trailer for the forthcoming "Halloween" film, starring Jamie Lee Curtis...

Look like this not only ignores the remakes, but all the previous sequels (even Halloween 2), which is a bit wierd. But looks kinda cool.

What are your thoughts?

Back to work!

OK, following a 6 month hiatus (not counting my occaisional posts on FB and Twitter), I've decided it's time to get back to work on the old website again.

Expect normal posts (whatever "normal" is around here) to get back to normal shortly.

SITE ANNOUNCEMENT - TAKING A BREAK

After very careful consideration, I've decided I need to take a break from maintaining the website for the forseeable future. This sadly means, no more news updates or reviews until further notice.

Put breifly, keeping this place updated regularly has gone from being a part time hobby to having a second full-time job, which has become a bit of a strain.

I have therefore decided, for the sake of my own sanity, to give it a rest for a while to free up some time to pursue other interests.

I'm not planning on shutting the place down, at least not yet anyway. However I will be reconsidering how best to move the site forward.

This also means I probably won't be posting over on Facebook much. However, I will be making the odd personal post over on Twitter if you wish to see what I get up to over there.

Also, I do plan on continuing with the YouTube channel for now, so please subscribe to me over there if you haven't already done so!

That's all for now. Friday night chat sessions will continue as normal in the chat room if you want to stop by.

Best Wishes
Simon!

The Realm of Horror's films of 2017

As always, with it being New Years, here's my list of films from the last 12 months that struck a particular chord with me...

The Devil's Well, out on US DVD this month!

Hell is just below the surface in Kurtis Spieler’s spine-chilling The Devil’s Well, which comes to US DVD this month from Wild Eye Releasing.

Paranornmal researcher Karla Marks mysteriously vanishes while conducting an investigation with her husband into the Devil's Well, an underground location reported to be a gateway straight into hell, and the site of ongoing strange phenomenon.

A year after her disappearance, a group of investigators go back to uncover the truth about Karla, and are faced with evil forces greater than they ever imagined.

Winner of the Gold Award at the Spotlight Horror Film Awards, and featuring a superb line-up including Bryan Manley Davis (Sheep Skin), Chris Viemeister (Bridge and Tunnel), David Alexander (Thelema the Equinox Diaries), Kristen Seavey (“Nightwing: Escalation”), and Anne-Marie Mueschke (“Siberia”),

The Devil’s Well is full to the top brick with bloodcurdling chills. Look for it from 23rd Jan on US DVD.
